Help with Rebar photo-point monitoring.
Rebar is coming soon. These answers describe how the app is designed to work. Contact support@kumikosolutions.com with questions.
The compass seems off.
Step away from vehicles, fences, and metal posts, then move the phone in a figure-8.
GPS says I’m there, but the view doesn’t match.
Phone GPS is accurate to a few meters. Find the marker, stand on it, then line up with the reference photo.
How do I send stations to volunteers?
Share → Station pack. They open the file in Rebar.
How do volunteers send photos back?
Share → Visit pack. The coordinator imports it, and merging needs the Coordinator unlock.
The file is too big for email.
Use AirDrop, Google Drive, or Files.
I got a new phone.
Back up everything on the old phone, open the file on the new one, then tap Restore Purchases.
What’s a reference copy?
A smaller copy of the coordinator’s photo, sent so you can line up the shot. The original stays with the coordinator.
True or Magnetic?
Magnetic is what a hand compass shows. True is corrected to geographic north. Each project uses one, and every bearing is labeled.
What does the SHA-256 fingerprint prove?
That the photo file hasn’t been changed since it was taken. It doesn’t prove what the photo shows.
How do I delete a project?
Your own project: Edit → Delete project. A copy from a coordinator: Delete this copy, below its stations. It can’t be undone, so back up first. The free version allows one do-over after deleting your project.
Handing off a project
After handing off a project, stop editing it on the old phone. Both phones would own it, and their changes never meet.
My purchase doesn’t show. (Android)
Purchases belong to the Google account selected in the Play Store app. Switch to it, then tap Restore Purchases.
How do I put a Rebar file in Google Drive? (Android)
Tap Save to this phone and choose a folder on the phone, such as Documents. Then upload the file from the Drive app.
