Local processing, no collection

App Archaeology processes filesystem information locally on your Mac to discover installed applications, inspect associated files, and explain storage footprints. The application does not collect personal data or transmit filesystem data to Kumiko Solutions LLC.

The application requires no account and contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking. It does not use cloud or AI processing. No network functionality is required by the application.

Access you authorize

App Archaeology uses macOS App Sandbox. User-authorized filesystem access is used only to inspect files for the functionality you request. You can authorize read-only access to your user Library through the native macOS folder picker. The app uses security-scoped access and a locally stored bookmark to retain that authorization where applicable.

The application does not delete or modify inspected filesystem contents. It does not request Full Disk Access. Protected locations may remain inaccessible; Scan Coverage reports these limitations.

Information stored on your device

Standard application preferences needed for local operation may be stored on your Mac, along with the security-scoped bookmark for authorized access. These are used for the app’s operation, not for tracking you.

To show earlier results and what removed apps left behind, the app also keeps its most recent scan results (application names, file paths, and sizes) and, for 30 days, a list of applications that are no longer installed. Both stay in the app’s own storage on your Mac and are never transmitted.

No sale or advertising sharing

App Archaeology does not sell personal or filesystem data or share it with advertisers or data brokers because the application does not collect that data in the first place.

That correspondence is separate from the application’s local processing and is covered by the Kumiko website privacy policy. Please do not include private file contents or sensitive filesystem details.
